Modern Reading Rooms

Increasing the green spaces on campus by different urban revitalisation projects is just one step in our “masterplan” of providing the best conditions for the (at least!) four years that you are going to spend in the residence hall. We also turned existing areas into study centres, reading rooms, co-working spaces, and spaces for spending the time you dedicate to studying.

The Learning Centre is located on the ground floor of the residence halls T5 and T6. By a project amounting to about 100,000 euros, we transformed an unfriendly space into a state-of-the-art centre, equipped with intelligent and interactive boards, work stations and furniture meant to encourage both team teaching, and individual counselling meetings. The centre has three rooms: one for the teaching-learning activities; a reading room area, which can also be used as a team training and counselling room; and an individual counselling room.

The Counselling Centre is now in place of a former club, which was desert for years and served as a store-area. The space was radically transformed, and now training workshops, educational and counselling events can be organised here, including by the student and the volunteer associations of the university; it can also be a study room for all the students living on campus, a co-working area, where they can work individually or in teams.

The area was designed to have both classic-format study areas (with tables and chairs), and relaxed study or reading areas (with armchairs, coaches); there are also other elements that guarantee the comfort of the students wishing to study or to participate in different activities: artificial lighting adapted to study activities, window solar protection allowing for an adaptation of natural light to the activities taking place in the room, coffee machines and water filter, internet access, sockets, a ceiling with acoustic properties ensuring hearing comfort, natural plants increasing the visual attractiveness of the room, etc.

The Reading rooms on the ground floor of the residence halls T15, T17 and T18, represent areas that are ideal for both individual study, in a calm, protected environment, and team working. The light, warm colours and the furniture designed to guarantee intimacy and comfort at the same time round out the three modern reading rooms, where you can spend time away from the ongoing agitation.
